UK HM Treasury Release Discussion Paper on Remote Gaming Duty
HM Treasury have released a discussion paper and draft clause on taxation for remote gambling.
The Government will be creating a new duty of excise 'remote gaming duty' that will be under the care and administration of HM Revenue and Customs. Remote gaming duty will be a self assessed tax and businesses will be required to apply for registration and account for themselves. The draft clause does not show final rate of remote gaming duty however this will be announced in the Budget 2007.
