ATP Steps Up Tennis Betting Enforcement
23/07/2008: The ATP has raised the profile of its anti-corruption campaign after suspending two players for betting on matches – just days after they had won tournaments. Doubles specialists Frantisek Cermak and Michal Mertinak were found guilty of betting on matches after an investigation found they had breached the association’s rules.

01/07/2008: The European Commission will not be able to reach any decision until the autumn on whether to take any Member State to the European Court of Justice over their restrictive gambling regimes, a spokesman for EU Internal Markets Commissioner Charlie McCreevy confirmed yesterday.
