European Commission requests the Netherlands and Greece to remove national gaming restrictions

28/02/2008: The European Gaming & Betting Association (EGBA) welcomes today’s decision by the European Commission to pursue infringement proceedings against the Netherlands and Greece and to formally request them to remove gaming restrictions which were found inconsistent with EU law. The Commission took the first step in the infringement procedure against the Netherlands and Greece in March 2006 and June 2007 respectively by issuing a letter of formal notice.

Europese Commissie vraagt Nederland en Griekenland nationale beperkingen op kansspelen op te heffen

28/02/2008: De EGBA (European Gaming & Betting Association) verwelkomt het vandaag door de Europese Commissie genomen besluit om inbreukprocedures uit te voeren tegen Nederland en Griekenland en deze landen formeel te vragen om gokbeperkingen, waarvan werd aangetoond dat deze niet stroken met de Europese wetgeving, op te heffen. De Commissie nam de eerste stap van de inbreukprocedure tegen Nederland en Griekenland op respectievelijk maart 2006 en juni 2007 door een ingebrekestelling uit te schrijven.

Η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή απαιτεί από τις Κάτω Χώρες και την Ελλάδα να καταργήσουν τους εθνικούς περιορισμούς στο θέμα των παιγνίων

28/02/2008: Ο Ευρωπαϊκός Οργανισμός Παιχνιδιών και Στοιχημάτων (EGBA) καλωσορίζει χαιρετίζει τη σημερινή απόφαση της Ευρωπαϊκής Επιτροπής να κλιμακώσει τη διαδικασία επί παραβάσει εναντίον των Κάτω Χωρών και της Ελλάδας, και να απαιτήσει επίσημα να καταργήσουν οι χώρες αυτές τους περιορισμούς στο θέμα των παιγνίων που κρίθηκαν ασυμβίβαστοι με το κοινοτικό δίκαιο. Η Επιτροπή έκανε το πρώτο βήμα στη διαδικασία επί παραβάσει εναντίον των Κάτω Χωρών και της Ελλάδας τον Μάρτιο 2006 και τον Ιούνιο 2007 αντίστοιχα, εκδίδοντας μια επιστολή επίσημης προειδοποίησης.
