Online betting and gaming: another “exception française”?

13/10/2009: The French National Assembly voted today in first reading its draft on online gaming and betting. After voicing its concerns on the viability of the French draft, the European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) notes that today’s vote worsens the conditions of the market opening. The draft now goes to the Senate for discussion.

08/10/2009: The European Commission issued a detailed opinion against the Danish proposal to regulate online gaming and betting on 6 October 2009. The draft legislation is intended to regulate both the on - and offline gaming and betting market in Denmark.

Online gaming and betting: French MPs to decide over viability of French law

06/10/2009: The European Gaming and Betting Association (EGBA) re-iterates its concerns over some of the key provisions of the French draft law to be debated on 7, 8 and 9 October in the French National Assembly. Seven months after its notification to the European Commission, EGBA considers that the French proposal still conflicts with the EC Treaty.
